Meet the Staff

   

Gilbert Grieve - Manager

Gilbert has worked for EDCVS since its formation in 2000, and has been working in the charity sector since 1990. He has previously worked as an Economic development worker, Manager for CAB and as a Trainer. Gilbert was on secondment to SCVO as Senior Programme Development Officer on the Supporting Voluntary Action Programme  before returning to EDCVS in May of this year. GIlbert has a degree in Social Science for Glasgow College now Caledonian Universtity. Whilst on secondment GIlbet qualified as an Assessor for the European Framework for Quality Management.

 

Margaret Devaney - Development Worker

Margaret is  from a community education back ground with a degree from Strathclyde University. Her experience is mostly working with young people and young adults with learning difficulties but I has worked in developing educational programmes for adult learners, people who have alcohol and drug addictions, adults seeking asylum and for young parents living within inner cities. In her new role as Development Worker She is looking to make contact with as many groups and organisations within East Dunbartonshire. Margaret can give advice and support on such things as Social Enterprise, Good Governance and what’s the best biscuits to buy from Tesco.

 

Jim Thompson - Development Worker

Jim is the Community Engagement officer for East Dunbartonshire Council Voluntary Service (CVS). he previously worked with an organization that provides services for people with learning disabilities and still hopes to assist groups in this environment should the opportunity arise.One of his tasks is supporting the Peoples Partnership Forum (PPF) this is a network of existing local voluntary groups, interested health service users, carers and members of the public.He is also working with the East Dunbartonshire Access Panel which aims is to improve the accessibility of services, facilities and buildings across East Dunbartonshire for all disabled people. 

 

Helen Moore - Choose Life Coordindator

Helen has worked for CVS for four years establishing and running East Dunbartonshires  suicide prevention programme. Helen is a qualified traininer for the suicide prevention course supplied by the project. Helen was Lead Officer for EDCVS in 2008 when Gilbert was on secondment to SCVO.

 

Sheena Bremner - Administration Coordinator

Sheena has worked with EDCVS for the past five years. Sheena provides admin support to the Board and keeps an eye on the organisations finance working with the Manager and Treasurer.
