The annual Voluntary sector Showcase returns on the Saturday
29th November 10 am til 1 pm.
This year's event will be held in the Kirkintiloch Baptist Church, who
are also hosting the annual Community Fun Day and all the monies raised
go back to local charities. CVS are delighted to be provided with such
an excellent venue to Showcase the services and support provided by
groups in the voluntary sector.
The Church's Community Fun Day has many
activities for kids of all ages including a bouncy castle, photos with
Santa, silent auction and much more.
Kirkintilloch Baptist Church is, of course, easily recognised because
of its big green building on Townhead in Kirkintilloch.
David Gordon, Minister at the Church says of the Joint Event: "
we wanted to affirm
the immense value that so many groups such as these play within our
local community. We are also delighted
this year to welcome the CVS ‘Big Get Together’ as
an integral part of the event.
It is this sort of
partnership with other groups in the voluntary sector that we want to
develop and encourage in the future.
Over the coming months
and years hopefully we will get to know and understand one another
better."
Please come along and join in the fun. Don't forget to
visit the stalls of local groups working in East Dunbartonshire.
It is sure to be a great event.

Yesterday saw the launch of Big thinking, the consultation on our
strategic framework for 2009 – 2015.
Big thinking is about looking back on what we have achieved together
and looking forward to what we can do even better between 2009 and
2015. It is about celebrating success and learning from the accumulated
experience of more than 10 years of Lottery funding.
This is your opportunity to tell us what you think and help us decide
where Lottery money can make the biggest impact .
Much of the discussion will take place at www.big-thinking.org.uk
We hope you’ll take the time to get involved and contribute
your Big thoughts by completing the online consultation survey.
